As we know, in some certain fields there are some kinds of enegy like: electric power,hydraulic energy, pneumatic energy, gravity, chemical energy,heat, radiant energy and so on.
Those enegy are necessary to the production, however, if they are not controlled properly, it may resulte in some accidents.
Lockout/tagout can be appllied to the hazardous power source, to make sure the switch has been locked, the enegy has been released and the machine couldn’t be operate anymore. So that to isolate the machine or equipment. Also the tag has an function of warning and the information on it helps workers to know more about the machine’s situation so that can avoid accidental operation, prevent accident and protect life.
Any damage to personel or the property will do harm to the production efficency and cost a lot to make all things back to its road. So, in other words,using lockout/tagout can help to improve production efficiency and save cost. It’s definitely meaningful to some plants and factories.
