With the development of the national economy, my country’s safety standards have been gradually improved. Eyewash has become an indispensable safety protection equipment in industries with dangerous chemicals such as petroleum, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, chemical, laboratory, etc. Definition of eyewash: When a toxic and hazardous substance (such as chemical liquid, etc.) is sprayed on the body, face, eyes or fire of the worker, causing the worker’s clothing to catch fire, a kind can be quickly rinsed on site to eliminate or delay injury Safety protection equipment. However, eyewash products are only used in emergency situations to temporarily reduce the further damage of harmful substances to the body, and cannot replace the main protective equipment (personal safety protection equipment). Further processing needs to follow the company’s safe handling procedures and doctor’s guidance.
So how to choose eyewash products correctly?
First: Determine according to the toxic and hazardous chemicals on the job site
When there is chloride, fluoride, sulfuric acid or oxalic acid with a concentration of more than 50% at the site of use, you cannot simply choose 304 stainless steel eyewash. Because the eyewash made of stainless steel 304 can resist the corrosion of acids, alkalis, salts and oils under normal circumstances, but it cannot resist the corrosion of chloride, fluoride, sulfuric acid or oxalic acid with a concentration of more than 50%. In the working environment where the above substances exist, eyewashes made of stainless steel 304 material will have a great deal of damage in less than six months. In this case, the anti-corrosion treatment of 304 stainless steel is required. The general treatment method is electrostatic spraying ABS anti-corrosion coating, or the use of other eyewashes, such as ABS eyewash or 316 stainless steel eyewash.
Second: According to the local winter temperature
If the eye washer is installed in the open air, the temperature of the installation site must be considered throughout the year, and the indoor minimum temperature condition in winter should also be considered when installing indoors. The annual minimum temperature of the installation site is an important reference index when selecting the eyewash. If the user cannot provide an accurate minimum temperature, it is also necessary to determine whether there is ice in the installation site in winter. Generally speaking, except for South China, the weather below 0℃ will occur in other regions in winter, then there will be water in the eyewash, which will affect the normal use of the eyewash or damage the pipe or pipe of the eyewash.
